Insurance company says okay to Wuhan Virus (COVID-19)

Since the earlier article, more and more insurance companies announced publicly that they will extend the coverage for the treatment of Wuhan Virus (2019-nCoV).

Here’s a compilation on which company has publicly announced the extension of coverage, in no particular order:

  1. Prudential
  2. Great Eastern
  3. AIA
  4. Hong Leong Assurance
  5. Tokio Marine
  6. Zurich
  7. Etiqa

However, I would like to remind you that no company will cover the cost of quarantine if you do not contract the virus. Let me know if you have the latest news. I’ll do my best to keep all of you updated. Stay clean. Stay safe.

2021 Update (14 Jan 2021):

Since the date this article was originally published (30 Jan 2020), there has been a few updates.

According to the Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM):

“all life insurance companies and takaful operators will provide hospitalisation coverage/treatment due to Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) to their policyholders/certificate holders.”

So for those of you that have a medical card, no worries, you are covered.
